How to get rid of a FAKE Facebook profile in 3 easy steps

I don't know about you, but I've been getting a lot of fake Facebook friend requests lately. I know they're fake because I'm already friends with them on Facebook. I confirm this by doing a search for them on Facebook using their name.

So how do you get rid of a fake Facebook profile if it happens to you?

Click the “Search Facebook” box at the top left of your screen. Type your name and click enter. If more than one profile displays in the results; one of them is fake or may actually be another legitimate person with the same name. I've found that many of the fake ones do not have a profile picture.

The following instructions are for fixing the problem using a computer in three easy steps. It may be different if you do it with a smartphone:

  1. Click the 3 dots below and to the far right of your name.
  2. Click “Find support or report profile”
  3. Click “Pretending to Be Someone”

That's it!
